SOAR Fund
Supporting Opportunities for Adaptive Recreation
The SOAR Fund is a Neuroworx initiative created to reduce financial barriers to participation in adaptive sports and recreation. Through small grants, the fund helps individuals and families access opportunities that promote activity, connection, independence, and quality of life.
SOAR grants can help cover costs such as adaptive equipment, program fees, lessons, and other expenses associated with participating in sports and recreational activities. Whether someone is trying a new activity, joining a community program, or obtaining equipment such as a sports chair or handcycle, the goal is to make meaningful participation more accessible.
Apply for a SOAR Grant
Payment Documentation: Documentation is required before grant funds can be issued. This may include an invoice, receipt, or other documentation showing the cost of the specific requested item or program. Documents can be emailed to soar@neuroworx.org.
There are no deadlines or cutoffs for application submission
Adaptive Activity Fair
To help fundraise for the SOAR Fund and expose individuals to adaptive recreation, Neuroworx hosts an annual Adaptive Activity Fair every spring. The fair is a community-based event that strives to provide access and connection to adaptive sports/recreation resources for those in the Greater Salt Lake area. The event hosts dozens of vendors specializing in providing adaptive and accessible sports and activities including:
- Skiing
- Handcycling
- Wheelchair basketball
- Paragliding
- Scuba diving
- Video gaming
- Wheelchair tennis
- Rock climbing
- Wheelchair lacrosse
- Off-roading and hunting
- And more
